Founded in 2019 by Joe Green, Third Sector Network sprang from a vision to fill a critical gap in the support services available to charities, non-profits, and social enterprises across the UK. Joe recognised that while the internet overflowed with online workshops and webinars on marketing, social media, and growth strategies tailored for the commercial sector, there was a stark lack of guidance that addressed these topics from the unique perspective of charitable organisations. This realisation sparked the inception of Third Sector Network, a platform dedicated to equipping charities with the tools and knowledge to promote themselves, develop, and grow while staying true to their core mission and values.
At its heart, Third Sector Network acknowledges that the day to day life of a charity often mirror those of a private sector business. However, the driving force behind a charity's actions is not profit, but its mission. This fundamental difference means that the vast array of available online content, focused predominantly on efficiency and profit, often misses the mark for charities. Our mission was to rectify this by providing charity training that not only covers essential operational skills but does so through the lens of ethical practice and mission-focused growth.
Having started in 2019, interestingly the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic played a curious role in shaping our trajectory. As the world pivoted towards remote working and digital communication became the norm, Third Sector Network found itself perfectly positioned to meet this new demand. Offering charity workshops and online training sessions and support via Zoom and Teams, we quickly became a go-to resource for charities adapting to the challenges of the pandemic.
Today, Third Sector Network continues to champion the cause of charity development. Our offerings have expanded beyond online training and charity webinars to include in-depth consultancy support, covering a range of needs from crafting long-term growth strategies to developing risk registers, and from providing 1-2-1 mentoring to facilitating team training sessions. We've been fortunate to partner with an incredible array of causes, from fledgling start-ups to multimillion-pound household names, spanning from Bristol to Belfast and Greenwich to Glasgow.
While Third Sector Network operates as a private business, our commitment to supporting charities is unwavering. Every day, we're inspired by the incredible work of the organisations we serve, and we take pride in knowing that our services help them to achieve their goals. Our journey has only just begun, and as we continue to evolve, our core mission remains the same: to empower charities to navigate their unique challenges with confidence, ensuring they have the skills and support to thrive in today's dynamic landscape.

Clara is stupendously multi-lingual! She is fluent (we mean fluent!) in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and... Norwegian. Alas we are yet to offer charity workshops in languages other than English as Clara remains very camera shy.
