Jan Brooks - CEO, Isles Access (Charity)
Third Sector Network supports charities in a variety of ways. If you've not used a consultant before, you might have 100 questions or be nervous about that first step. Perhaps you're are simply interested in what we can offer in terms of charity training.
Either way, drop us a line for an informal chat.
Our consultants are not here to just hand out criticism or ask you to change everything.
The nature of our charity training can be as simple as a one off chat where we listen about your issues and offer some advice to take away.
Sometimes it's more in-depth, ongoing support. It varies client to client based on needs.
Our 1-2-1 support ranges from standalone 1hr charity workshops on Zoom through to in-person charity training spread over time.
Our services include:
We fully appreciate, for some, being a charity and reaching out to enquire about the support of a consultant may seem daunting. Obviously we're going to tell you we're great, we can help and everything will be fine. We truly believe all of that. But ultimately you can't believe it unless you get in touch and listen to what we say we can do for you.
All enquiries, from any charity, are treated as nothing more than a curious query. We do not treat enquiries as sales opportunities or chances for us to push our services hard. We have confidence that if you have an informal chat with us via email, phone or Zoom/Teams we will leave you with an impression we're worth working with. That's why we don't chase up initial enquiries, hassle you for a decision or any of that nonsense.
We think we can help your charity. We can say that with confidence because we're yet to work with a charity we weren't able to help. So what have you got to lose? Drop us a line, tell us what's on your mind and we'll offer our thoughts on that.
Please reach us at info@thirdsectornetwork.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
It varies enormously. But, our most common form of consultancy support that is requested is periodic online support (via Zoom or Teams) to help charity leaders and professionals navigate subjects and challenges they freely admit they're struggling a bit with.
Sure! Let's imagine your charity is doing OK. But, despite your best efforts you're struggling with growth. You can't seem to reach a larger audience than you had last year and the year before. We would look to give you some (hopefully) valuable insights into how you could expand your social media outreach, improve your marketing, engage more volunteers and create a message that resonates with your audience more effectively.
Whilst it is hard for us to put a precise figure on it, due to the broad nature of options we do appreciate this is going to be a key question for some people. So, lets put it like this... We offer 1-2-1 support sessions (that we like to call a 'Power Hour') for significantly less than £100. For an in-depth staff training session, with entirely bespoke content created for your charity, these have historically been priced between £175 and £500 (depending on the nature of the training, naturally).
Yes. Consultancy support is essentially a fancy way of referring to all the different ways we support charities in one broad term. It can sometimes create the presumption we're only talking about in-depth, strategic planning. But, it can simply be a single training session, delivered in person or via Zoom/Teams to help your team understand a subject better or know what steps they need to be taking to develop, improve and grow.
We understand this entirely. So let's spell this out clearly to avoid any ambiguity. We 100% acknowledge that an enquiry is just that. If you contact us asking about the possibility of us providing support we will ask you for a few details about what you want support with. We will then give you a clearly spelled out quote of how much our services cost and simply leave it with you! An enquiry does not trigger a 'sales process' from us. We will never phone your office or the person who enquired to follow up. We may send a single follow up email if we don't hear back within a week or two after our initial quote. But if we don't get a response from that email follow up, that's the last you'll hear from us. We promise.
In principle no. However, we have found support via Zoom and Teams is a popular choice with most charities. This is partly due to expense. We are primarily based in the East Midlands and we would of course need to charge travel expenses to visit you in person. For charities in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and the far south of England these may prove prohibitive (for some). However, be assured, whether you are in Penzance or Inverness if you would prefer in-person support we can offer that.
Right now, you might not be looking for the more in-depth 1-2-1 support consultancy offers. You may have some simple questions and in return want to straightforward answers, in that case you may want to check out our online webinars (available to download now). They offer so much more than simple answers, but they are a great way to start out on the road to success.
